The MPCS PAC exists to advocate on behalf of the MPCS parents, to elevate the student experience through communication, inclusive community building, and enhanced programming and infrastructure inline with the changing needs of our school community.

Fall Fundraiser - Frozen foods from Neufeld Farms - orders open!

MPCS PAC is pleased to once again be partnering with Neufeld Farms for our Fall Fundraiser. A portion of all proceeds supports MPCS PAC’s funding of enrichment activities for Myrtle Philip students.

Wide variety of frozen foods available including gourmet meats, holiday favourites, appetisers, ready made meals, sweet treats and more!

Order deadline is Oct 27. Delivery is Tues, Nov 4, 2:45pm (all orders must be picked up at this time).

Card Project orders are open! Deadline for priority orders (delivered Nov 17-21) is Sunday, October 19.

Parent Education session: Anxiety in Children and Youth.

The SD48 District Parent Advisory Committee, SD48 and Beacon Psychology is pleased to invite parents to an educational seminar by Dr Juliana Negreiros, the lead developer of the SD48 EASE (Everyday Anxiety Strategies for Educators) program currently used in our schools.

Wednesday, Oct 22nd, 7-8:30pm. In person at the Eagle Eye Theatre, Howe Sound Elementary School or online (link will be emailed closer to the date). Register via qr code on poster.

Open PAC meeting - Tuesday, Oct 7, 12-1pm, in the library.

All MPCS caregivers are invited to join the Open PAC meeting on Tuesday, October 7, noon-1pm (before early dismissal for parent-teacher conferences). Come learn what the PAC has been up to and the priorities for the 2025/2026 school year!

In recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we encourage students to wear orange tomorrow, Friday, Sept 26. The orange shirt has become a symbol of hope, reconciliation and a commitment to a better future. By wearing an orange shirt, you make a statement to support reconciliation and commit to the enduring truth that EVERY CHILD MATTERS.

Back to School - First day cafe - you’re invited!

Back to school is just around the corner with the first day back on Tuesday, Sept 2, 8:30-9:30am. The Myrtle Philip PAC will be hosting a first day cafe to allow all members of the Myrtle Philip community to connect and meet members of the PAC. Free coffee/tea/snacks. All caregivers of students welcome. 8:30am onwards. Hope to see you there!

A few friendly reminders for the last week of school before summer break:
No hot lunch this week - the final hot lunch was last week. Please pack a lunch for your student on Tues and Wed.
Thurs is last day of school and early dismissal (9:30am). Busses will run.
Lost and found last call! All items not claimed by Wednesday will be donated to the Reuse it.
No need to purchase school supplies for next year - school supplies will be purchased centrally by each teacher. Parents will pay for school supplies via school cash online.

Fun Day Coordinator sought!

The PAC is seeking 1-2 parent volunteers to coordinate Fun Day on Monday, June 23.

What does the roll entail?
1. Review last year’s events and amend if necessary or if you have ideas for fun new events
2. Pull out necessary equipment for stations
3. Coordinate parent volunteers and assign stations
4. Time keeping and announcing station changes
5. Supervise clean-up and return of equipment to its place

The previous coordinator will be available to answer any questions.

None of our events and programs would run without the support of Parent Volunteers. Here are the ways you can be involved:

1. Events: If you would like to help this year at any of our events please email us with the "Get in Touch" button. We also send out emails close to event dates with a sign up link to enable you to sign up for the event.

2. Hot Lunch: We are always short on Hot Lunch Volunteers so if interested please visit the link on our Instagram bio. Shifts are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 12:00-1 PM
